What is the Army Reserve?
While active duty Soldiers serve overseas, Army Reserve Soldiers fill critical roles at home. They are needed for jobs in medicine, aviation, rescue and extraction, sustainment (food, shelter and potable water), infrastructure protection, civil affairs and engineering. Army Reserve Soldiers are doctors, lawyers, academics, scientists and information technology specialists, just to name a few.
As an Army Reserve Soldier, you will be able to live where you wish, work your civilian career, and attend school. You will spend just one weekend a month and two weeks a year working and training in the Reserve, but you will still have many of the benefits as full time Soldiers, including health care, and retirement benefits.
