2012 US Army All-American Bowl

My name is Kelsey Ferneau and I play mellophone for the U.S. Army All-American Band.
We’re having another rehearsal but this time it’s not in the dome; we’re having it in the stadium.
I just want to be really solid on everything and be able to hit the move and the visual and the step and the dynamics all at the same time.
The sound is sounding nice and our section leader is really helpful and can tell us different things, so it’s getting better.
MSG Robert Cherry: Mellophone was basically designed in order to be a bell front alternative to French horn. French horn is played so that the sound goes backwards but the mellophone now, we can put a bell front, it sounds better on the field.
Kelsey Ferneau: We’re still working on some blending and different things but overall we’ve been doing really well and we’ve all bonded really well.
