Explosive Ordnance Disposal

EOD is a job that exemplifies the courage and skills of a U.S. Army Soldier. Fortunately, they have highly advanced robots that can remove some of the day-to-day danger of performing this job.

If you like video games, you like to blow stuff up, then this is it. EOD is for you. They get a call about a IUD or UXO on the FOB, we get a go, right then, right now. We're pretty much hopping and popping, every few minutes. I, as a team leader, will get out, communicate with who's ever on the ground who had seen the item and get the information.
Sergeant Carter might be in the back getting the explosives together, whipping those blocks of C4 together. And Dean's pulling out the robot to go down range. All that's happening, all at once, fast pace; we're clicking on all cylinders.
Robot driver is Dean, right, so we should just call this one Mini-Dean. We run in three-man teams this is our fourth member. We can send this guy out, and he does the dangerous stuff for us. He brings this robot to life. Dean is driving it up there and kind of looking at any mound that might be looking suspicious.
Anything that's going to tip off that says, "Hey, there's something wrong here." A lot of times, you'll dig up old Russian bombs, and you'll feel like an archaeologist and, you know, thing should be in a museum. After that, we place the explosives and have a nice little boom.
You get accolades from high-ranking generals, you get accolades from colonels. These are very important people in the military, and they're coming to thank you for the job that you've done.
