ACTIVE MEDICAL SPECIALIST CORPS BENEFITS
By choosing to serve in the Active Army, you'll receive a comprehensive benefits package that can include a competitive salary, board-certified specialty pay and student loan repayment assistance. Officers in the Medical Specialist Corps also qualify for low-cost or no-cost medical, dental and life insurance, generous retirement plan options, housing allowances and 30 days of paid vacation earned annually. You'll also enjoy a reasonable work-life balance that provides plenty of time for family and recreational pursuits.
ACTIVE DUTY HEALTH PROFESSIONS LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM (ADHPLRP)
Physician Assistants can receive up to $120,000, to pay down qualifying student loans. The ADHPLRP provides $40,000 per year for up to three years.
SPECIALTY PAY OF $2,000 to $5,000
Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Dietitians and Physician Assistants can receive Non-Physician Health Care Provider Board Certification Pay. To qualify, you must have a graduate degree, plus board certification in your clinical specialty. Specialty Pay, $2,000 to $5,000 per year, is calculated based on years of creditable service.
RESERVE MEDICAL SPECIALIST CORPS BENEFITS
When you become a member of the U.S. Army Reserve Health Care Team, you will be able to work in your community and serve when needed. In addition to financial incentives and retirement plan options, you'll have opportunities for career development as an Officer in one of the world's largest and most advanced health care organizations.
SPECIAL PAY
Physician Assistants are eligible to receive $60,000 in Special Pay. Payments are made in increments of $20,000 per year up to a total of three years. This incentive can be combined with the Healthcare Professionals Loan Repayment Program (HPLR).
HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM (HPLR)
Physician Assistants can receive up to $50,000 to repay student loans. HPLR payments are made over three years, in installments of $20,000, $20,000 and $10,000. HPLR participants may be eligible to participate in other incentive programs.
