WHATEVER YOUR SPECIALTY, YOU'RE A SPECIAL PART OF THE ARMY

As an Active Duty Dentist in the Army, you will get the chance to specialize much sooner than you probably could in private practice. Plus, Army Dentists have the opportunity to cross-train in many different dental specialties.

In addition to general dentistry, there are several other specialties found within the Army Dental Corps:

  • Comprehensive Dentist
  • Endodontist
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
  • Orthodontist
  • Pediatric Dentist
  • Periodontist
  • Prosthodontist
  • Public Health Dentist
  • Oral Pathologist
DENTAL CORPS REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for an Officer appointment in the Army Dental Corps, you must:

  • Meet the prescribed medical and moral standards for appointment as a commissioned Officer
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be a graduate of an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited dental school
  • Have a current unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a state of the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States
  • Be 21-46 years of age (dentists 47 years of age or older may apply for an age waiver)
